My Vintage Tea Party Baby Shower 20th May

So to baby shower or not to baby shower? Of course! It's very American but over the last few years it has become increasingly popular here in the UK. I just think it's a good excuse to have a little party. A fun way to get all the girls together and not only to receive gifts but to share your experience of pregnancy.

Typical English weather its was grey and overcast. Typical English weather the following week it was bloody beautiful and boiling hot! Oh well the weather didn't stop us and with the help of my Aunties, cousin and mother I had the perfect setting.

Up went the marquee and decorating tables covered in vintage floral curtains. My cousin made some very yummy cake pops and cupcakes. My Aunt C made my beautiful main cake. I just added the tulips and booties which were from Hobby Craft. After much searching my cousin found me my desired pink lemonade. It was sold out every where, never knew it was so popular! I had a big vase full of sweet popcorn and made up some popcorn bags. I had big, fat, yummy strawberries and a spread of tea party sandwiches including salmon and cream cheese (so wanted to eat them) ham and cucumber and cheese and tomatoe. Luckily the in laws had made some yummy chicken, mac n cheese and a very yummy potatoe salad as all the food went down like a treat.

My lovely friends and family completely spoilt us and showered us with amazing gifts. Even more surprising Mr C popped in with treats for both me and baby, which was a nice surprise! The amount of gifts baby C received was very over whelming. She got the most beautiful clothes, a very special keep sake trunk, her first pair of converse and lots of other lovely bits including blankets, toys and most importantly more nappies!!!

For my thank you favours i brought little jam jars and filled the them with strawberry sweets millions. I made jam jar covers from pink gingham fabric and was meant to make a gift tag saying "Thanks a Million!" but i ran out of time. Minus the gift tag I Absolutely loved my little favours.

Again I am so thankful and blessed for all the people that surround me in my life!
