I haven't been to an exhibition or gallery since leaving uni. There was always something I really hated but equally loved about going on those trips. Last night whilst working I had the news on in the background but the volumed turn down and all I saw was this:
Lot 169: 'Egg Letter Box' by Benjamin Shine |
I love it, a traditional London letter box shaped as an egg. They showed a few other designs and from what I could make out there was an egg exhibition going on in London. By the time I got my butt up to turn up the volume it had already ended. It really made me want to design an egg! I had a quick Google and came up with The Faberge Big Egg Hunt.
Over 200 uniquely
crafted eggs, created by leading artists, designers, architects and jewellers,
will be hidden across the capital this Easter. Gather your family and friends
and join the hunt, for a truly original and interactive eggsperience! With so many
eggs to find, grab your zone map and get the clues that will test even the
savviest of Sherlocks! Plus it is all for charity.
My Favourite egg
is called 'Amplified' by Ting-Chung Jessica Cheng. She is a London-based
multi-disciplinary designer from Taiwan. She creates novel digital and analogue
experiences through interactive installation, products and art works.
There are lots of fun and
beautiful eggs to be seen check them out at www.thebigegghunt.co.uk If you were
to design a egg what would yours look like? I think mine would be a white
shabby chic, pretty, vintage inspired egg or it would be the complete opposite,
black with lots of gold studs!
Lot 25: 'Amplified' |
Lot 123: 'Busby' by Rachel Waldron |
Lot 183: 'Seasons Change' by Laura Oakes |
Having a look at the different eggs i have found a number of artists that i really like and have felt all inspired to stay more creative. Maybe when the sun comes out to play I might get myself into London to have a look for one. I only really go to Brixton these days to visit my best friend Miss T. I'm guessing they didn't put one there? hmmm wonder why.
